Meditation and Modern Buddhism:

Public Talk in Brockville
Saturday, September 28th, 11am-12:15pm

Buddhist meditation is like a window in our mind through which we can see the real possibility of true peace and happiness. When we meditate, we are training to find happiness from within. We learn how to stop our distracting thoughts and to guide our mind toward inner peace. Meditation can be used to reduce stress and anxiety, as well as to improve our positive qualities such as compassion and wisdom. Over time, we’ll find it easier to remain stable and happy, even in difficult circumstances, and all our relationships will begin to improve.

This talk will be given by Kadampa Buddhist nun Gen Chöyang. Everyone is welcome to learn about meditation, happiness and the Buddhist way of life. The talk will be followed up by a meditation class on the last Saturday of every month at the Wall Street United in Brockville given by long-term student of Kadampa Buddhism, Bill Spurrell.
